The conference, held in Prague on April 15–17, 2009, was organized to honor the jubilee of Professor František Daneš (*1919), well-known Czech linguist. The main goals of the conference were to discuss linguistic topics, which Professor Daneš developed in his essays and articles, functional linguistics and the perspectives on grammar.
