A report about the successful presentation of the Czech Republic at the world exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai caught the attention of all the media immediately over the opening weekend. The Czech exhibit includes also science and remembers the scientific success of prof. Antonín Holý team from the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry ASCR, v. v. i., which helps to save millions of people in the world.

The team successfully works on research of chemical substances, which in the form of drugs help fighting against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which is one of the most difficult challenges in the world of medicine. The molecules developed by the team of prof. Holý make the treatment and life of patients with AIDS significantly easier. Therefore the motto of the exhibit, Molecules for Life, could not be more fitting. The telling example of how drugs behave in an infected cell and how many people are infected worldwide with HIV can viewers learn from additional videos.
