The June issue of the journal Cell published a study Horizontal Gene Transfer from Diverse Bacteria to an Insect Genome Enables a Tripartite Nested Mealybug Symbiosis. Its first author, Filip Husník, is Ph.D. student of the Faculty of Science of University of South Bohemia and the Institute of Parasitology of the Biology Centre of the ASCR. Tremblaya princeps is a symbiont of Planococcus citri mealybugs (PCIT)
