Czech Republic symbolically ended its EU Council Presidency with a Street party in Brussels on June 26, 2009. It was the biggest cultural event in this year’s calendar and took place at Grande Place – the main square in Brussels – and its costs were covered by the Czech Government Office, the City of Prague and Czech regional representation offices in Brussels. The Czech regions and the representatives of CZELO and CzechTourism presented their specialized programmes. The Moravian-Silesian Region and the City of Prague presented a programme of leading Czech bands, the South Moravian Region supplied the Street Party with Moravian wine. Other evens were presented by the Ústí nad Labem, Vysočina, Pardubice, Hradec Králové, Karlovy Vary, South Bohemian and Central Bohemian Regions, and others.
