SCIENCE AND RESEARCH
Culture of politics in the middle Europe in medieval times and early modern period

Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Faculty of Humanities, University of Pardubice, East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice, Institute for the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Czech National Committee of Historiographers organized the conference about history of culture of politics in the middle Europe.

Strange Isotope effects
Professor Rudolph A. Marcus from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, awarded the 1992 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, visited the Czech Republic. Prof. Marcus was invited to 14th annual R. Brdicka Memorial Festive Lecture where he lectured about Strange Isotope Effects in Stratospheric Ozone and in the Earliest Minerals in the Solar Systém.

Czech proteomy conference
The first meeting of Czech proteomics was hold in the middle of June in Mělník.

Words and history in 2004
An international conference was organized by the Czech Language Institute ASCR. The conference was concentrated on evolution of the Czech, Slavonic, Baltic and also German languages and their relationships.

Plasma physics and technology
The 21st international symposium about high-temperature and low-temperature plasma was held in Prague at the end of June.

10 year anniversary of EuroMISE Center
